I am DuBose Bean, a Clinical Mental Health Counseling intern at Baobab Counseling Center, currently completing my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Bellevue University.

My background includes working with adolescents and individuals with developmental and behavioral challenges at Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health in Kennesaw, Georgia. In this role, I supported youth who have experienced significant trauma, as well as individuals on the autism spectrum. These experiences deepened my appreciation for resilience and reinforced my belief that growth is possible, even in the face of adversity.

I have a strong passion for working with individuals struggling with addiction, particularly those navigating recovery from drugs and alcohol. As someone who is in recovery myself, I bring both professional training and lived experience into the counseling space. I strive to walk alongside my clients as they rediscover hope, rebuild their sense of self, and create lives that feel meaningful and fulfilling.
As a Brainspotting practitioner, I incorporate this brain-based approach to help clients process trauma, reduce emotional distress, and access deeper levels of healing. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I aim to create a safe, inclusive space where clients feel seen, supported, and empowered to explore their experiences, build self-awareness, and develop tools for lasting change.

It is an honor to be part of Baobab Counseling Center, and I look forward to walking alongside clients as they navigate their unique paths toward wellness and balance.
