Therapy is a safe place that gets to be all about YOU!
Psychotherapy is truly life-changing when it is collaborative and interactive, and as your therapist, I am committed to walking the journey with you. Together we will explore and process the elements in life that challenge you and keep you from living your best life. Taking the first steps in seeking therapy can be challenging, but through building a trusting interpersonal connection between client and therapist, the rest becomes easier!
I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and hold a Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Texas at Arlington. My therapeutic approach is strength-based, solution-focused, and holistic/mind-body. I use an integrated and individualized approach that focuses on empowering you to embrace your inner resources while assisting in the navigation of life’s transitions/challenges and overcoming obstacles. I enjoy incorporating creativity, movement, and mindfulness when appropriate to make real-world connections and build resiliency.
My work experience includes working at psychiatric hospitals, substance abuse treatment centers, and post-acute medical settings. I have worked with clients aged from childhood to older adults. I have conducted groups in various settings, including an inpatient psychiatric adolescent unit addressing issues, such as self-esteem, anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, and self-harm.
My clients can expect to gain awareness, coping skills, and motivation to improve present circumstances and create new thought patterns, emotional responses, and behaviors to allow not only healing but thriving! Furthermore, you will learn how to manage stress, grow compassion/acceptance, effectively communicate needs/boundaries, become more connected to your body, and develop tools to weather life’s more difficult challenges!
